The 5 Fashion Trends You’ll Be Living in All Summer

2024-06-22

Temperatures and hemlines are officially on the rise, and it is high time we pull out all the summer inspiration you’ve been waiting for. From Celine to Stella McCartney, Michael Kors to Miu Miu, these are the hottest trends to keep you looking cool all summer.

From the impending summer Olympics to Challengers to Bode’s instantly sold-out revival of Nike’s iconic Astro Grabber, something in the air has us ready to throw it back to old-school athletic design. Channel your parents’ gym class uniforms in retro short-shorts and jersey-inspired tees. And then polish off the look with this summer’s trendiest sneakers.

We’ve all had those days where we’ve longed to laze around in our jammies...so boy, do I have great news for you: Pajamas are getting a runway-worthy overhaul this summer. Think oversized shirting, relaxed pants, and elevated boxer shorts in crisp, classic stripes (bonus points for a matching set to make the look feel put together). The key to keeping it from looking too snoozy? Accessories you certainly wouldn’t wear to bed, like a cute Mary Jane, a structured bag, and your favorite jewelry.

We’ve got a ways to go before Labor Day arrives, so now is the time to go all-in on all-white. Monochromatic styling took over the spring runways, from Acne Studios to Ferragamo. The color even made up the bulk of Valentino’s spring/summer 2024 collection, opening with a series of eight white looks in a row. Thankfully, it’s a super easy vibe to recreate, from top to white-sneakered toe. This is exactly what we want to wear on the hottest days of the year. Just...be careful with that iced latte.

More polished than a T-shirt and not quite as prim as a button-down, the polo is about to be your go-to summer top. We’ve been loving all things preppy ever since Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2024 collection resurrected layered polos with popped collars (boat shoes included). And it’s a surprisingly versatile staple. Perfectly at home on the golf green, it can also be dressed up for the office with the right skirt and heel. Just opt for summer-friendly fibers like cotton and linen, and you’ll be good to go.
